oprano Beth McCool is gaining recognition for her glorious lyric voice and dramatic artistry. She made her New York City debut in 1998 at Lincoln Centers Alice Tully Hall in Teatro Grattacielos concert production of Mascagnis Iris, conducted by the esteemed Maestra Fiora Contino. In the 2001 season she again joined Teatro Grattacielo as Fenitchka for Alfanos Risurrezione.
In recent seasons she has performed with the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as the Goddess Diana and First Priestess in Glucks Iphigenia in Tauris, conducted by David Agler, directed by Nick Muni; with The Atlanta Opera as Emmie in Brittens Albert Herring, conducted by William Fred Scott; and with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as First Spirit in Mozarts The Magic Flute, Yoel Levi conducting.
A 1994 National Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, Ms. McCool was also a previous Finalist in the prestigious MacAllister Awards. She has been a winner of numerous regional vocal awards including the Birmingham Opera Theatre Vocal Competition.
Notable starring performances include Mimì in La Bohème, Nedda in I Pagliacci, and Pamina in The Magic Flute for the Grand Theatre Opera Company of Cartersville, Georgia. In consecutive seasons, Ms. McCool thrilled audiences in leading operetta roles with the Savoyards Musical Theatre Company of Atlanta as Margot in Rombergs The Desert Song; as Elsie in Gilbert & Sullivans The Yeomen of the Guard and Valencienne in Lèhars The Merry Widow.
On the oratorio stage, Ms. McCool has soloed with The Augusta Choral Society, The Atlanta Bach Choir, and The American Guild of Organists. She has advanced her operatic studies by attending the American Institute of Musical Studies, Graz, Austria, the Ensemble Program of the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and two years appearing with the Atlanta Opera Studio.
Ms. McCool resides in New York City with her husband.
